What Led Me To Learning Oncology Massage?

After I moved from Thailand to Canada I started noticing that some of my husband’s family, new friends, acquaintances, plus their parents and several of my patients had been diagnosed with some form of cancer. This got me to thinking, “How can I as a healer gain more knowledge about how I can help that are currently going through cancer treatment or post cancer treatment? Cancer statistics show that as of 2018, more than 1.5 million people in Canada had received a cancer diagnosis in the previous 25 years and it also showed that both cancer rates and cancer survival rates are increasing overall throughout the country.

It was with this acquired information that it motivated me to begin a new goal and personal journey to study oncology massage.  It was apparent to me that with this newly acquired knowledge it would enable me to help ease the pain, discomfort, and stress both physically and mentally for anyone diagnosed with cancer.

While researching about oncology massage training I came across a wonderful woman named Janet Penny. Janet is a RMT and is also a leading Canadian oncology massage therapist instructor. She specializes in teaching the art and science of working with people with cancer across Canada and I am so blessed to have received training in theory and practical oncology massage from her.
